Mobile Pantries delivering food to U.P. communities in July

MARQUETTE, MI--   Feeding America West Michigan is sending six Mobile Food Pantries to locations 

around the U.P. this month.

Fresh produce, dairy products, and baked goods account for much of the food distributions.  No proof of income is required to get food, but clients will be asked to sign a statement affirming they’re in need.

The July dates are as follows:

7/7 

Old Manistique Saw & Planing Company, Manistique, 10 am

VFW Post #4573, Ishpeming, 10 am

7/8

Garden Area Catholic Churches, Garden, 10 am

7/14

Hannahville Community Center, Hannahville Indian Community, 10 am

7/20

Webster Elementary School, Escanaba, 1:30 pm

7/27

Rapid River High School, Rapid River, 10 am

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
