Michigan gas prices dropping

Jun 18, 2013

DEARBORN, MI (AP)--   AAA Michigan says gasoline prices have fallen about 27 cents during the past week to a statewide average of about $3.95 per gallon.

The auto club says Monday the average is about 17 cents per gallon more than this time last year.

Issues at several Midwest refineries had driven up prices in recent weeks, and AAA Michigan says prices likely will continue to decline.

Of the cities it surveys, AAA Michigan says the cheapest average price for self-serve unleaded fuel is in the Flint area, where it's about $3.88 a gallon. The highest average is in the Benton Harbor, Saginaw and Bay City areas at about $3.97 a gallon.

Dearborn-based AAA Michigan surveys 2,800 Michigan gas stations daily.
