Meth lab found in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team have discovered a meth lab on Wright Street in Marquette.

Thursday they responded to the 1400 block and located several meth-making components and hazardous waste from the cooking process.

The waste and components were taken to a secure storage container.

No arrests have yet been made, but the investigation remains ongoing.

Since January 1 of this year UPSET has investigated or responded to 67 meth labs in the U.P.  That’s an 86 percent increase from the same time last year.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
