Meth lab busted in Houghton

HOUGHTON, MI--   Two people were arrested in Houghton after police discovered a meth lab.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office went to a residence on Laminga Road Monday on a report of suspicious activity. They made contact with the two residents of the home and allegedly observed meth components.

A 21-year-old woman was arrested on a probation violation and for having five different drugs in her system. A 23-year-old man was arrested on a three-count felony warrant from an investigation involving the illegal delivery of marijuana conducted by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team earlier this year.

UPSET obtained a search warrant for the residence. Detectives seized and removed components used to make meth.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
