The following is a list of proposals on the ballot for counties in the Public Radio 90 listening area (no uncontested races are included):

ALGER COUNTY

Autrain Township, Grand Island Township, City of Munising, Munising Township:

Shall Munising Public Schools, Alger and Schoolcraft Counties, Michigan, borrow the sum of not to exceed Sixteen Million Three Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($16,320,000) and issue its general obligation unlimited tax bonds therefor, for the purpose of:  erecting, furnishing and equipping an addition to the high school/middle school building, including elementary classrooms, gym and secure entry; remodeling, equipping and re-equipping and furnishing and refurnishing school buildings; acquiring, installing, equipping or re-equipping school buildings for instructional technology; purchasing and equipping school buses; and preparing, developing, improving and equipping a playground and the high school/middle school site?

Shall the County of Delta, Michigan, borrow the principal sum of not to exceed Nineteen Million Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars ($19,900,000) and issue its general obligation unlimited tax bonds payable over a period of not to exceed thirty (30) years from date of issuance, to be used by the County for the purpose of paying the costs of construction, equipment, site improvements, and other related costs, of a Sheriff's Office and Corrections Center?  The estimated millage to be levied in 2016 is 0.9162 mills ($0.9162 per $1000 of taxable value) and the estimated simple average annual millage rate required to retire the bonds is 0.9174 mills ($0.9174 per $1000 of taxable value).

Shall The Marquette Area Public Schools, Marquette County, Michigan, borrow the sum of not to exceed Six Million Two Hundred Eighty-Five Thousand Dollars ($6,285,000) and issue its general obligation unlimited tax bonds therefor, in one or more series, for the purpose of:  erecting, furnishing and equipping additions to school facilities; partially remodeling, furnishing and refurnishing, and equipping and re-equipping school facilities; acquiring, installing and equipping instructional technology for school facilities; constructing, equipping, developing and improving athletic and physical education facilities; and developing, improving and equipping athletic fields and sites?

MULTIPLE-COUNTY PROPOSALS

OPERATING MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSAL

This proposal will allow the school district to continue to levy the statutory rate of not to exceed 18 mills on all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, required for the school district to receive its revenue per pupil foundation allowance.

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Tahquamenon Area Schools, Luce, Schoolcraft, Mackinac and Chippewa Counties, Michigan, be increased by 18 mills ($18.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for the year 2016, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and 18 mills are levied in 2016 is approximately $3,117,125 (this is a renewal of millage that expired with the 2015 tax levy)?

AREA CAREER AND TECHNICAL

EDUCATION PROPOSAL

Shall Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District, Michigan, come under sections 681 to 690 of the Revised School Code, as amended, and establish an area career and technical education program, which is designed to encourage the operation of area career and technical education programs, if the annual property tax levied for this purpose is limited to 1 mill ($1.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation), for a period of 10 years, 2016 to 2025, inclusive; the estimate of the revenue the intermediate school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2016 is approximately $2,317,717 from local property taxes authorized herein?
