MARQUETTE, Mich. (AP) — A recreational trail bridge at the mouth of the Carp River near Marquette closed for emergency repairs.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources said Monday the closure south of the city is expected to last about a week. It says the repairs will stabilize the slope next to the bridge abutment following erosion from a recent storm.
The agency says visitors will be able to access the trail at the parking area south of the bridge and travel south on the multi-use state trail. Visitors won't be able to cross the river to travel north on a city bike trail.
The repair project is supported by funding through the Federal Highway Administration.
