Marquette Township crash injures one

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person has been injured in a two-vehicle accident in Marquette Township.

The Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened Tuesday around 11:50 a.m. on US-41 in front of Menards.

Deputies say Judy Young-Campbell, 69, of Ishpeming was eastbound on the highway when a vehicle driven by Donna Nikunen, 48, of Munising turned left into her path.

A passenger in Campbell’s vehicle was taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of shoulder and back injuries.

Nikunen was cited for failure to yield.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
