Marquette man who fired gun before police standoff arrested

MARQUETTE, MI--   Charges are being brought against a Marquette man who held police at bay while in possession of a firearm last week.  

Christian Nutini, 28, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon and discharging a firearm in or at a building.

Last Tuesday Marquette Police were called to Nutini’s residence on the 2300 block of Presque Isle Avenue on a report that he was suicidal and had a gun.  He later surrendered to police.

Nutini remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
