Marquette man injured in snowmobile incident

SANDS TOWNSHIP, MI--   Another person has been hurt in a Marquette County snowmobile accident.

Sheriff’s deputies were called Wednesday around 12:25 p.m. to the Sands Township railroad grade, about 1.5 miles south of Station Road near Trail #8. Jeremy Beerman, 47, of Marquette was eastbound along the power lines when he unexpectedly came upon a ravine near the railroad grade. The snowmobile went airborne for about 60 feet before it landed on the other side.

The impact apparently injured Beerman’s back. He was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
