Marquette hospital contractor picked

MARQUETTE, MI--   U.P. Health System Marquette has selected a general contractor to build its new hospital at the former Roundhouse property.  

Skanska Closner has been chosen to construct the 265-bed hospital and 80,000 square-foot medical office building. 

Skanska USA is one of the largest construction companies and one of the top healthcare builders in the country.  Marquette contractor Closner Construction provides services throughout the U.P.

Duke LifePoint Healthcare is investing more than $300 million in the project.  Groundbreaking is planned for the spring of 2016 and construction is expected to be completed in early 2018. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
