MARQUETTE, MI-- The Noquemanon Trail Network has expanded with the purchase of nearly ten miles of silent sports trail easements and 40 acres of land in Marquette County.
The acreage surrounds the County Road 510 trailhead and connects the easements.
NTN officials say the trail section on easement land is the primary cross-country ski trail system of the network and is used by more than 1,000 members annually.
The purchase from Plum Creek Timber Company was made possible through funding from the Eagle Mine Community Fund, the U.P. Sustainable Forestland Wildlife Fund, the Community Foundation of the Upper Peninsula, and private donors.
