Marinette man sentenced for shooting

MARINETTE, WI--   It’s a 20-year sentence for a Marinette, Wisconsin man charged with shooting another man in the arm in May of last year.  

Kenneth Davis, 51, pleaded no contest in January to three charges.  In exchange, charges of intimidation of a witness by threat of force and possession of marijuana were dropped.

Monday Davis was sentenced to 15 years for first-degree reckless injury and 7.5 years for reckless endangerment, to be served concurrently.  The judge also gave him five years in prison for felon in possession of a firearm, to be served after the first sentence. 

Davis must also pay the victim $40,000 in restitution.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
