Man who stabbed officer at ski jump sentenced

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   A Norway man has been sentenced for stabbing a deputy at the Pine Mountain Ski Jumping Tournament last year. 

Andrew Bray, 75, was arrested in the Feburary 10 incident and charged with intent to cause great bodily harm less than murder and carrying a concealed weapon. 

Monday Bray was given 23 months to 10 years for the first count with credit for 492 days already served.  He was given 23 months to 5 years on the second count. 

The sentences will run concurrently. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
