ESCANABA, MI--   Authorities have not yet released the name of a suspect who led police on a chase through Delta, Dickinson, and Menominee counties last week.

Friday around 9:45 p.m. officers from Escanaba Public Safety responded to a report of a vehicle stolen from the 800 block of North Lincoln Road. About four-and-a-half hours later the vehicle was sighted by Norway Police, who tried to make a traffic stop. The driver sped off and led police on a chase through three counties. The chase ended when the vehicle crashed at the intersection of US-2 and M-69 in Delta County.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on a charge of unlawfully driving away an automobile. He remains lodged in the Delta County Jail on a $75,000 bond, pending arraignment.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
