Man involved in standoff with Marquette Police sentenced

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette man charged in a March standoff with police has been sentenced.

Christian Nutini, 28, was apparently suicidal when he shot a gun in his apartment on the 2300 block of Presque Isle Avenue.  He kept police at bay, then surrendered five hours later.

Last month Nutini pleaded guilty to drunk and disorderly conduct, reckless use of a firearm, and second-degree retail fraud.  Tuesday he was given 18 days in jail and a year of probation.  If he violates his probation, nutini will have to serve 360 days in jail.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
