Man injured in Dickinson County ORV crash

NORWAY TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person is injured, following a 4-wheeler accident in Dickinson County.

State Police from the Iron Mountain Post say the crash happened Saturday around 7:15 p.m. on the Norway Truck Trail in Norway Township. Troopers say the 4-wheeler was southbound when the driver failed to negotiate a turn. The ORV left the trail and struck a tree.

The 31-year-old driver, who was wearing a helmet, sustained serious injuries. He was taken to Dickinson County Hospital, then flown to a trauma center in Milwaukee.

Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
