Man drowns at Marquette County Bible camp

LITTLE LAKE, MI--   An intern has drowned at a summer camp in Little Lake.

The Forsyth Township Police Department says the accident happened Tuesday around 7:45 p.m. at Upper Peninsula Bible Camp. The 20-year-old Delta County man was located in the water by staff and brought to shore, where lifesaving techniques were implemented. When emergency personnel arrived the man was taken to UPHS-Marquette, but he died as a result of drowning.

Forsyth Police did not release the man’s name, but a Facebook post by the camp says the victim was Cody Cayer, a summer intern.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
