Man charged with abusing infant

ESCANABA, MI--   An Escanaba man arrested for child abuse last week has been arraigned in Delta County District Court.

Jerry Munger, 22, is charged with first-degree child abuse involving an infant. He and the 21-year-old mother brought the child to St. Francis Hospital Friday. Officials say the infant presented signs of child abuse.

The parents were questioned and Munger was arrested. The child was transferred to a Green Bay hospital for further treatment.

Munger remains lodged in the Delta County Jail on a $650,000 cash surety bond. A probable cause conference is set for February 8.
