Man arrested for robbery following Ishpeming standoff

ISHPEMING, MI--   A police standoff in Ishpeming Thursday afternoon ended with the arrest of a man for a Marquette robbery.

The name of the man arrested has not yet been released, pending arraignment.  No one was injured in the incident.

Assisting at the scene were Marquette City Police, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department, and Negaunee City Police.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
