IRON RIVER TOWNSHIP, MI-- An Iron County man is in police custody, following a domestic dispute and standoff in Iron River Township.
The Iron County Sheriff’s Office was called to the home Sunday around 4:20 p.m. on a report that a disorderly subject was fighting with family members. Deputies say the incident escalated when the man obtained a long arm and fired two shots. The subject then barricaded himself in a relative’s house, but after a brief standoff surrendered to police.
The suspect will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm under the influence of alcohol.
Officials are not saying if anyone was injured in the incident.
