Man arrested in connection with Bessemer woman's death

BESSEMER, MI--   An arrest has been made in connection with the death of a missing Bessemer woman. 

Ethel Grzena-Peters, 79, was last seen August 3 in Bessemer.  Her body was found ten days later in Gogebic County’s Watersmeet Township.

Sheriff’s officials and Michigan State Police say a 50-year-old Bessemer man is now lodged in the Gogebic County Jail on a homicide charge.  His bond is set at $1 million dollars. 

Police say the unidentified man was arrested Wednesday night. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
