An eastern U-P man has been sentenced on assault charges stemming from a July 2016 incident that initialy included kidnapping charges. According to ABC-10, 46-year old Michael Millette, of MacMillan, was sentenced Wednesday to 2-to-4 years in prison on 2-counts of ‘assault with a dangerous weapon.’ Charges of ‘kidnapping’ and ‘assault with intent to murder’ were dropped as part of a plea agreement in April.
Last July, Millette is said to have confronted a husband and wife with a handgun in their Chippewa County home. He reportedly left the home with the woman as a hostage. He was arrested a short time later. The woman was not injured in the incident.
