Log spill in Baraga County halts US-41 traffic

ALBERTA, MI--   A logging truck lost its load and collided with a semi on US-41 just south of Alberta in Baraga County Wednesday.

Witnesses say the semi was southbound and the logging truck with pup trailer was northbound around 2:30 p.m. when the semi driver noticed a chain on the trailer had come loose and logs were spilling out.  The semi driver tried to avoid the logs but was unable to.  The collision happened near the rest stop by Canyon Falls.

The road was closed to most traffic until authorities could clean up the scene.

It’s unknown whether anyone suffered injuries in the accident.
