Let-run list increases

MARQUETTE, MI--   More communities have been added to the let-water-run list across the U.P.

Frigid temperatures are forcing residents to run a pencil-width stream of water in a sink in their homes so their pipes don’t freeze.

On the let-run list are:

Ely, Tilden, and Forsyth Townships; Palmer, Iron River, Newberry, L’Anse, Caspian, Lake Linden; Huron Town and Number 2 Location in Portage Township; residents on the Rock water system in Maple Ridge Township; and the City of Crystal Falls.  Homes that use a septic system in Crystal Falls are asked to use an outside hose to run water.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
