ESCANABA, MI-- Nineteen employees at the Verso paper mill in Escanaba have been let go.
Verso officials say the move comes as they redesign the company’s organizational structure. They note it’s not necessarily due to the state of the paper industry.
The salaried workers were offered severance packages and placement services. They came from various areas of the plant.
Verso says they don’t anticipate more layoffs will occur, stressing the mill will stay open.
