Juveniles caught with stolen car in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   Three juveniles are in custody for stealing a car in Marquette Township and gasoline in Marquette. 

City Police were alerted Thursday at 11 p.m. that a vehicle had left the Holiday Gas Station without paying for fuel.  Officers tried to stop the suspect vehicle, but the driver fled.  After a short pursuit the suspect lost control of the vehicle, which went off the roadway.

Police apprehended three juvenile suspects, one of whom was reported as a runaway.  The vehicle was found to be stolen from Marquette Township. 

All three were placed at the Marquette County Youth Home pending the authorization of charges from the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
