Ishpeming meth lab suspects arraigned

ISHPEMING, MI--   A preliminary hearing is set for two Ishpeming residents arrested in a pair of meth busts last week.

Jessondra Pennala, 37, was arrested October 16 by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and Ishpeming Police at a house at 260 Marble Street.

John Heribacka, 40, was arrested the same day at a home at 213 Oak Street.  Officials say they discovered the largest amount of meth-related components ever found from a search warrant in Marquette County at the residence.

They say the suspects had stayed at both locations with Pennala’s children.

Pennala and Heribacka are both charged with two counts of operating a meth lab in the presence of a minor.

A preliminary exam is set for November 3 in Ishpeming District Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
