Ironwood fatality possibly connected to drugs

  IRONWOOD, MI - One man is jailed on drug charges in Gogebic County in an investigation that involves the death of another man. Ironwood Public Safety officers responded to a 9-1-1 call at about 1:55am Tuesday. A 32-year old man was reported unresponsive at a resident on Oak Street. The caller said another man had dropped him off at the address and then fled on foot. Public Safety officers and ambulance personnel attempted to revive the man at the scene. He was later pronounced dead at Aspirus Grand View Hospital. The suspect was located and lodged in the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department. He is charged with ‘Delivery of a controlled substance – Heroin- causing death.’ More charges are pending. Names and more information will be released after arraignment and the decedent’s family is notified.

            Ironwood Public Safety Department officers were assisted with the search warrant by GCSD and GIANT drug team members.
