Iron Mountain troopers search for motocross bike driver

BREITUNG TOWNSHIP, MI--   Law enforcement has once again called off the pursuit of a suspect for safety reasons.

The incident happened Wednesday afternoon in Dickinson County’s Breitung Township.  A trooper from the Iron Mountain Post observed a person on a motocross cycle on Lake Antoine Road commit several traffic infractions.  The trooper tried to stop the driver, who refused to pull over and instead headed toward Quinnesec.  The trooper pursued the biker for a while, but stopped to preserve public safety.

Officials say the driver was riding a red bike and was wearing a red, long-sleeved motocross shirt with black stripes under the arms.  He or she was also wearing a full white or gray helmet with a black design.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call State Police at 774-2122.
