NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI (AP)--   A museum in Marquette County has announced plans to upgrade its exhibits that chronicle the state's iron mining history.

The Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee Township will receive a $200,000 renovation.  The first phase of construction will begin next year.  The museum hopes to incorporate modern technology to educate and engage visitors of all ages.

Michigan historian Troy Henderson says the exhibits will be updated to include the current state of the iron industry.  He says much has changed since the museum was built in 1987.

The museum's upgrades will be funded by five annual donations of $40,000 from the Cliffs Foundation.
