Iron County police search for missing teen girl

UPDATE:  Police say Shianne Hookenson has been found.

CASPIAN, MI--   Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Caspian teen.

On Tuesday the Iron County Sheriff’s Office received a report that Shianne Marie Hookenson, 13, was missing.  Her mother says she last saw Shianne when she went to bed Monday around 10 p.m.  At 6:30 a.m. Tuesday the teen was not in the house and her whereabouts are unknown.  Officials say she may be in the Marquette area. 

Shianne is 5’1” and about 145 pounds.  She has long, dyed-red hair on the left side of her head and the right side is shaved.  Shianne has brown eyes but often wears purple, blue, or green contacts.

Anyone with information regarding Shianne’s whereabouts is asked to call the Iron County Sheriff’s Office at 875-0650 or Iron County Central Dispatch at 875-6669.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
