InvestUP launches in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   A new Upper Peninsula-wide economic development initiative unveiled in May now has a name and a logo.

InvestUP will be funded through the private-sector and has an initial budget of $500,000. The name was announced at a press conference in Marquette Monday.

Founding member and President of Viridea Group Bob Mahaney says InvestUP’s mission is to pursue and deliver new business, industries, and jobs to the region, and to recruit, train, and retain employee talent in an aging workforce. It will work with other EDO’s in the U.P. to target regional, national, and multi-national economic development opportunities.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
