Injuries reported in Skandia Township accident

SKANDIA TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Skandia man has been seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident on US-41 South near Dalton Road. 

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Thursday around 8:20 p.m. A southbound Ford F-150 driven by a 52-year-old man veered off the roadway and went into the ditch. It struck an embankment and went airborne across Dalton Road. The truck came to rest on its passenger side in a ditch on the south side of the road.

The driver was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of his injuries.

Deputies were assisted by the Chocolay Township Police Department, Michigan State Police, and Skandia Township EMS and Fire.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
