Injuries reported in Negaunee Township truck-semi crash

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person was taken to the hospital, following a truck/semi accident in Negaunee Township.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says Thursday around 9:50 p.m. a Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Francis Giroux, 37, of Quebec was eastbound on US-41 near Brebner Road when a pickup truck pulled out of a business driveway in front of him.  The truck was driven by Trevor Williams, 19, of Ishpeming.

Williams was not wearing a seat belt and was initially trapped in the truck, but was eventually able to get out. He was taken to UPHS Marquette for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
