Ihander found guilty

MENOMINEE, MI--   A Menominee Township man has been convicted of second-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend. 

Gregory Ihander, 49, was accused of stabbing 43-year-old Jolene Eichhorn of Carney to death and putting her body in the trunk of her car in September of 2015. 

The Menominee County trial lasted a week-and-a-half.  The jury took more than eight hours to deliberate before it delivered the verdict Thursday.

Sentencing is set for April 13.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
