Historic Menominee building wins honor

MENOMINEE, MI--   The City of Menominee is being honored for its preservation efforts. 

The State Historic Preservation Office is awarding the city, the Woda Group, and Hooker DeJong Architects and Engineers the 2015 Governor’s Award for Historic Preservation.  The award is for the rehabilitation of Lloyd’s Department Store in Menominee. 

The awards are held every year to recognize outstanding historic preservation achievements that keep Michigan’s unique character and document Michigan’s past. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
