CALUMET, MI-- State Police at the Calumet Post are receiving complaints from residents about door-to-door salespeople.
The sales representatives are apparently using high-pressure tactics and possibly misleading information to persuade residents to sign contracts for essential services. Troopers say they may be leading consumers to believe they’re getting substantial discounts, which may not be true in the long term.
Troopers say though the business and salespeople may be legitimate, numerous complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau.
Officials encourage residents consumers to read contracts carefully, ask questions, and consider consulting a third party before signing a contract.
