GWINN, MI--   Gwinn Area Community Schools Superintendent Dru Milliron has been asked to leave his post.

WLUC-TV reports officials gave Milliron notice that his contract will be terminated at the end of the school year.  Board of Education member Bill Nordeen says it’s because the board thinks Milliron isn’t suited for some of the challenges the Gwinn district faces.

Milliron was hired last July.  He was given a three-year contract with a provision the Board could give him a 90-day termination notice after a year of employment.

The district is now looking for a new superintendent.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
