GWINN, MI-- The Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center in Gwinn has received $1 million to expand its services.
The center is only one of ten in Michigan to get Community Health Center funding through the Affordable Care Act. It will use the money to add 2,500 square feet and update the current structure, which was built in 1987.
UGL officials say the project will reduce congestion, improve patient flow, enhance provider productivity, allow for more hours of service, improve the exchange of information between health care providers and patients, and eliminate space issues.
The Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center is a community-based primary care center that provides services for all people, regardless of their ability to pay.
