Graduation time at NMU

MARQUETTE, MI--   Northern Michigan University holds its winter commencement ceremony this  

weekend. 

Out of 576 students eligible to graduate, around 400 are expected to walk across the stage.  The ceremony starts Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

At the same time, the NMU Board is undergoing changes.  Governor Rick Snyder has named two new trustees to replace outgoing board members. 

Robert Mahaney is the president of The Veridea Group and past president of the Noquemanon Trail Network.  He replaces Gil Ziegler. 

Tami Seavoy is an attorney with Marquette-based Kendricks, Bordeau, Adamini, Greenlee & Keefe, P.C., and has served as in-house corporate counsel for Marquette General Hospital.  She replaces Stephen Adamini.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
