Gogebic County girl missing--UPDATE

UPDATE--11:38 am--   Gogebic County Sheriff's deputies found Jordyn Mazanec and Matthew Reder Wednesday morning at an Ironwood hotel.  Charges are pending against Reder.

IRONWOOD, MI--   A Bessemer girl has been listed nationally as a runaway. 

Police are searching for 16-year-old Jordyn Mazanec, who was last seen in Ironwood on Monday. 

Officials say the teen got into an argument on the phone with her parents and hasn’t been seen since.  Her cell phone and vehicle were found near Mt. Zion in Ironwood.

Mazanec is believed to be with her 19-year-old boyfriend, Matthew Reder. 

Anyone with any information regarding Mazanec’s whereabouts is asked to call the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office at 667-0203, or dial 911.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
