Gladstone fire victim identified

GLADSTONE, MI--   Police have released the name of the man killed in a house fire in Gladstone last 

Thursday.

Around 5:20 p.m. Gladstone Public Safety was called to 509 Loueda Avenue on a report of a fire.  They were told an elderly disabled man may still be in the home.

When the fire was extinguished officials found the body of Ivan Rufus Ryan, 87. 

The cause of the fire and Ryan’s cause of death remain under investigation.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
