Get rid of old electronics in Calumet Friday and Saturday

CALUMET, MI--   An electronic recycling event is being held in Calumet at the end of the week.

Goodwill and Comprenew are partnering with the Copper Country Recycling Initiative, Michigan Tech, the Department of Environmental Quality, and the Superior Watershed Partnership to host the event. It will be held at the Goodwill Training Center on Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A partial list of items that will be accepted include cell phones, computer monitors, copy machines, cordless phones, fax machines, laptop computers, keyboards and mice, microwave ovens, printers, scanners, stereo equipment, televisions, and VCR and DVD players.  For a complete list of acceptable items go to goodwillnorth.org or comprenew.org.

This is the first of several collections that will occur throughout the summer. The next collection will be June 2 in Marquette County.  Details will be forthcoming on that event.
