Gas prices fall 6 cents

DEARBORN, MI (AP)--   AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have decreased for the first time in the past four weeks.

The Dearborn-based auto club says that the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was about $2.46 per gallon on Sunday. That's about 6 cents less per gallon than last week's average and down about 68 cents from the same point last year.

The lowest average price was about $2.38 per gallon in the Traverse City area, while the highest average was about $2.52 in the Marquette area.

AAA Michigan surveys daily fuel prices at 2,800 gas stations across the state.
