Gas prices fall 13 cents in past week to $1.53

DEARBORN, MI (AP)--   AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have fallen by about 13 cents in the past week.

The Dearborn-based auto club says the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was about $1.53 per gallon on Sunday. That's about 72 cents less than at the same time a year ago.

According to the auto club, Michigan ranked sixth in the nation for the lowest statewide average daily gas price.

AAA Michigan surveys daily fuel prices at 2,800 gas stations across the state. The lowest average price was about $1.44 per gallon in the Flint area, while the highest average was about $1.65 in the Marquette area.
