Gas prices decline

DEARBORN, MI (AP)--   AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have gone down by 8 cents over the past week.

The Dearborn-based auto club says the average price of self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was about $2.87 per gallon on Sunday. That's about $1 less than prices at the same time last year.

AAA Michigan surveys daily fuel costs at 2,800 gas stations across the state. The lowest average price was about $2.73 per gallon in the Marquette area, while the highest price was about $2.95 in the Detroit area.
