Forsyth Township woman accused of embezzlement

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Gwinn woman has been arrested on embezzlement charges.

The Forsyth Township Police Department says the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office authorized a warrant for Tracy Spruitenburg, 44.  She’s charged with embezzlement—$1,000 or more but less than $20,000.

Officers say the arrest was the result of a six-week investigation into the allegation that Spruitenburg took a large sum of money from the Pines Condo Association.  She was association treasurer from August 2015 to September 2016.

Spruitenburg was lodged at the Marquette County Jail, then released on a bond of 10 percent of $10,000.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
