Forsyth Township man jailed for criminal sexual conduct

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Gwinn man has been arrested on charges he sexually assaulted a girl younger than 13. 

Forsyth Township Police arrested Cory Steven Pierce, 50, for second-degree criminal sexual conduct, a 15-year felony.  Officers investigated a report that Pierce had inappropriate contact with a neighborhood girl. 

Pierce is lodged at the Marquette County Jail on 10 percent of a $100,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with information is asked to call Forsyth Township Police at 346-9224.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
