Forsyth Township man headed toward trial for murder, arson

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Gwinn man has been bound over to circuit court on arson and murder charges.

Steven Zintman, 45, is accused of starting a fire in his Forsyth Township home in May while his girlfriend, Sally Plume, was still inside.  Plume died in the fire.

At a preliminary hearing Wednesday Zintman’s son testified after he and his dad escaped the house his father initially said no one else was inside, but later admitted Plume was asleep in a bedroom.

Zintman will be arraigned in Marquette County Circuit Court next month.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
