Forsyth Township man arrested for embezzling from vulnerable victim

GWINN, MI--   A Gwinn man is jailed, following his arrest for taking money from a vulnerable adult.

Forsyth Township Police took Gary Vadnais, 49, into custody Tuesday on a three-count felony warrant. He’s charged with embezzlement from a vulnerable adult, $1,000 or more but less than $20,000; possession of a financial transaction device; and illegal sale or use of a financial transaction device.

Police say Vadnais was a court-appointed guardian for the victim when he allegedly diverted the victim’s funds for his own use.

Vadnais remains lodged at the Marquette County Jail. No bond is set at this time.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
